Marshall Futureworx appoint Kieren Paterson as new Managing Director

Marshall Futureworx, the venture building arm of Marshall of Cambridge, has announced that Kieren Paterson will assume the position of Managing Director with immediate effect.

Kieren has been co-founder and Head of Futeworx since the launch of Futureworx in 2020 and has had an extensive career with the wider Marshall Group that has spanned 23 years.

“I’m truly excited to start my new role as Managing Director, having spent the last two years building an extraordinary team and developing a portfolio of new products and services which we will commercialise and grow into new Marshall businesses over the coming years,” says Kieren.

“My core philosophy remains one of looking after your people really well, adding passionate and empathetic leadership and energy, and being both amazed and proud of what can be achieved in almost any situation.”

First joining Marshall as an undergraduate placement student in 1998, he spent his early career as a mechanical design engineer before specialising as a fluid/mechanical and thermal systems engineer. He worked on a variety of aircraft modification and integration programmes ranging from VIP business jet interior completions to military and special mission system installations and fuel system products amongst others.

He then spent several years leading engineering delivery teams on a range of complex modification programmes, starting as Lead Fluid/Mechanical Systems Engineer on the A400M Engine Flight Test Bed programme, as Chief Engineer for the RAF Tristar Fuel Tank Inerting System programme and as both Chief Engineer and Project Manager for the Airbus A318 Auxiliary Fuel System programme.

Kieren then became Chief Engineer for the largest and most complex platform conversion and mission systems integration programme undertaken at Marshall, and indeed in the UK for many years, which involved converting two “green” business jets into strategic Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance platforms for a middle eastern customer. From there, he moved into general management as the Head of Engineering for the Major Projects Business Unit until he was asked to take on his role and become one of the co-founders of Futureworx.

Kieren’s predecessor and co-founder of Futureworx, Chris Walton moves to take up the role of Managing Director of newly founded Marshall Middle East. He continues to provide advice and support to the Managing Director for Marshall Futureworx and the Executive Board of Marshall Group on venture building and technology development.
