Daniel Gortat

Daniel obtained a first class BEng in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology with a double Bachelor’s degree from Saimaa University of Applied Sciences in Finland and Vitus Bering University College in Denmark. He then gained an MSc with distinction in Mechanical Engineering and Design from the University of Manchester in 2014. Afterwards he joined the Centre for Doctoral Training in Ultra Precision Engineering at the University of Cambridge where he graduated obtaining an MRes degree in 2015 and a PhD in Industrial Photonics in 2020.
Daniel’s professional interests are in the space sector, energy beam manufacturing, vacuum technology and additive manufacturing.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys learning foreign languages, practicing karate and playing the guitar.
